God helps those who help themselves

 Some students in our university often complain that the competition is fierce, and they can’t adapt to the environment very well. With the negative emotion, they fail in the exams and other aspects in university life, and finally come up with a more negative conclusion that their teachers aren’t specialized, the courses are boring, their friends are mean and cold, and even the whole world is filled with barriers to success. What’s worse, there are even some students who choose an extreme way to show their anger or despair—self-murder.

I feel disappointed and shocked when hearing about such bad news, because most of the students had a good behavior during their high school days, and they are accepted to this famous university due to their outstanding intelligence or other talents. However, though the tragedy is related to the outer environment, I still believe that the students themselves should take on the responsibility.

 We have to admit that the competitions in the campus are fierce enough, which has brought the students a lot of pressure. But we should also be aware of the fact that we have to face more fierce competitions when we leave our university one day. Without such experiences in university, we will feel more difficult to step into society. What’s more, as a matter of fact, competitions exist objectively everywhere, and it is through competition that we can go to the best university to accept higher education.

 In a word , we can’t alter the social environment the same as the fact that we can’t choose our family and parents. The only thing we can do is to prepare for the competition in advance and then participate in it to win.

 On the other hand, fierce competition also has positive aspects, and sometimes it benefits us a lot. It brings us pressure but also inspires our potential adequately, as a result, for those who has well adapted to the environment, they take advantage of the competitions, realize their dreams and finally become a success.

After striving for own dreams devotedly, we will achieve not only the substantial fortune but also a deeper understanding of the human spirit, which is more precious and valuable. Maybe one day the goal we’ve struggled for doesn’t seem that important, but the process we approach to success matters, for it indicates our glorious qualities, insistence, confidence, and the spirit that never give up. 

 God helps those who help themselves. We can rely on nobody but ourselves, and we should keep in mind that for our friends and parents, it is not compulsory and necessary to help us in every aspect. We destine to go through some hardships in life with no company, and much evidence has shown that it is essential to success.

Now that we can’t quit living in the realistic world, and all of us have an appetite for success, why don’t we face up to the fierce competitions bravely?  Why don’t we grasp every opportunity to create our own future?
